22/52
"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Che: The light pours into his room first thing in the morning - perfect excuse to stay in bed and read.
Poet: She's an on-the-floor, legs kicking, tantrum thrower. Hello almost-2!
There's only one thing I don't like about this project; I'm witnessing the weeks rush by and feeling like it's all going too fast.
...................................................................................................................................................
Big, beautiful eyes - I love the angle Allison used to capture sweet Eloise / Cutie pies messing about, I adore these b+w shots by Lottie / Christina caught warm, autumn light and reflects on her own parenting / Charlie and Edie and a background of lush, spring green / Mariana's gorgeous girl on a skateboard, contagious joy and perfect shadows.

Gosh, Che is getting so big! Handsome boy.
ReplyDeleteChe has the right idea there - staying in bed is always nice! How far is Poet from 2 ?
ReplyDeleteI've been really busy lately which I think is giving the illusion of time whizzing by at a rate of knots - I hope it all slows down soon x
Poe is 2 in mid-July. It feels like I birthed her only last week! x
DeleteI did notice the speed at which this year has been flying by this morning. We're almost half-way through our 52!
ReplyDeleteWe're almost halfway through 52 already?! I can't believe it!! Cue the tears...
DeleteStaying in bed to read sounds dreamy. And oof, almost-2 looks mighty.
ReplyDeleteisn't the speed of the passing years so true! gotta find me a pause button. love your colour palette and light x
ReplyDeletei was just thinking the same thing as i typed "22" on my post. can time possibly go this fast?
ReplyDeletegosh, these are wonderful. I was just thinking after reading your blog post from yesterday how you can really notice the change of season there with your wonderful use of natural light. winter. i love the light of winter time. xo
ReplyDeleteI know.. nearly half way through. Scarily fast. x
ReplyDeletei agree with you. time goes by so much faster when you know it's saturday all the time...
ReplyDeleteIt goes by unbelievably fast doesn't it?! I love the colours and light in your photos Jodi. Always gorgeous light.
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet portraits! :-)

I can't believe it is June already!
ReplyDeleteSofia's tantrums started well before two (and will probably persist for a while yet), life can be so frustrating for them at this age.
Woah those little legs kicking! What a hilarious thing to show her when she's older. My parents took soooo many photos of my brother and I having tantrums x
ReplyDeleteI did feel a bit bad for documenting her tantrum but still, it's such a big part of toddlerhood and therefor, a vital part of this project. Here's hoping we're back to sweet smiles next week ;) x
DeleteI love a good tanty photo, I have many of my children. My favourite photos are normally the pouty, stubborn, grubby little faces. So much character.
DeleteEveryday moments captured with love and beautiful light. Always a pleasure to spend my Sunday mornings with you, Jodi and your lovely 52 project followers.

Oh, it's so hard to be a little one and not be able to get your own way all the time, isn't it?! Mornings reading in bed sounds like bliss!
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me this week. :)
Oh dear I do remember those days I can just hear Poet and those kicking legs do actually look pretty cute:) Mornings in bed reading sounds perfect to me. Have a wonderful week. x
ReplyDeleteI have an almost 18 months back arching tantrum thrower. At least Poet look cute in her beanie and stockings.
ReplyDeleteChe is looking more grown up all the time, his personality really shines through on his little face.
ReplyDeleteThere is NO point in throwing a tanty....without an audience,(thats why Mums don't do it )
ohh morning light...i have a thing about morning light and I just gravitate to it...perhaps because once I became a mother and early mornings were hard, I would look for the light and feel re-charged. Gorgeous image of Che, and little Poet...darling girl, no matter your age, sometimes we all wish we could kick our legs and have a good tantrum! Have a lovely lazy Sunday Jodi x
ReplyDeleteI adore Poets pink beanie, tights and little brown shoes xx
ReplyDeleteThis year feels like to has gone faster then any before it. That is one of the reasons I am so thankful for your project, whenever I feel like life is going to fast I look back at our time and remember all the fun we have had and adventures we have been on. x x
ReplyDeleteAhhh the tantrum year (or years). Harper just spotted Poet's photo and immediately said "Is that me?" Um, no it's not but I have seen you in that position before ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely portraits this week Jodi :)
Great portrait of Poet. All those big emotions for such a tiny little person, captured perfectly. Two?! When did that happen? This year is definitely flying by.

I love Poet's tights!
ReplyDeleteOh that light! And oh, that leg kicking!
ReplyDeleteShe may be throwing a tantrum, but little Poet is always immaculately dressed. Tights, shoes, hat, stripes, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy dressing her and I admit, I'm making the most of it before she steers towards candy pink and princess dresses. Hopefully I'll still get the chance to guide her; towards pink of the dusty/French variety. x
DeleteI'll second the appreciation for Poet's sartorial choices, tantrum and all. My kid just turned three, and I've lost the wheel when it comes to her closet. Try as I may, she's very determined when it comes to her wardrobe, which is something that I admire, but boy oh boy, I sure miss the days when I was in control of al fashion statements our house!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the weeks are rushing by. However, I am so, so thankful that these portraits each week say so much about how they are growing and changing, and that I will now always, ALWAYS, have these moments captured.
ReplyDeleteAlso, who knew tantrums could be so beautiful :)
Haha love that tantrum! I got one similar of my daughter, but she is 4!!
ReplyDeleteI just love Poet, it all looks very familiar to me. I have created The Tanty Files on my blog especially for my littlest man's constant tantrums. And Che looks extremely relaxed, we have those PJs too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a grin! And toddler tanties have to be seen to be believed. Keep warm lovely soul and hope your week is grand :) x
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi
ReplyDeleteI'm just about keeping up! We spent time with grandad this week and I'm painfully aware of memory loss and the use of pictures as prompts. My worst fear of growing old is loosing my memory like he does, without any logic, so I really want to print out some of my images and write on the back of them - the memories, the smells, the words, even the arguments! So this week isn't a brilliant photograph - it is a memory that I hope will remain in my head forever,
Emma x
Tantrums, tantrums.... I'm on the best of them!! Difficult to carry on some times. I'm really addict to this amazing project Jodi, thanks for the initiative.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful that you are doing a photo a week. thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us in such a beautiful way.

Jodi, this is such an inspiring project. Thank you, thank you x
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing..
ReplyDeleteLets keep up 52 weeks project.
Love from portugal.
My little one is in the middle of back-arching tantrums at the moment at almost 16 months :) He hasn't started the kicking completely yet, thankfully. But it's coming! They have such BIG feelings for such little bodies :)
ReplyDeleteI love that Che loves to read! And I hear you about the tantrums - Everly is turning two on Thursday and we are experiencing a few big meltdowns a day at the moment! I'm a little frightened about the years ahead... ;)
ReplyDeleteA tantrum in tights is somehow a bit too cute to really be a tantrum (don't tell her!) x
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. This year is zipping by. At least we are recording it - tantrums and all (still cute however)! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jodi!
ReplyDeleteCor Che is getting to be quite the big boy! x
ReplyDeleteThank you for picking us this week! I love this project, I can hardly believe how fast the weeks are coming.
ReplyDeletewhy to tanty's always make me giggle? most inappropriate, could be because my claud always does her's standing up. we call it her pixie dance!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by either!!
ReplyDeleteI love watching my children grow from week to week.
